Seven Chicago restaurants received AAA Five Diamond rating this year, making it the top U.S. city according to the travel organization.
The 2011 Five Diamond rated restaurants for Illinois and northern Indiana are as follows: Alinea, Arun's, Avenues (in The Peninsula Chicago), Charlie Trotter's, Everest, Seasons Restaurant (in the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago) and TRU.
In total, Chicago has eleven Five Diamond establishments, including four hotels, of which two are new for 2011, making Illinois fourth among the states with the most Five Diamond establishments.
Nationally, 179 establishments snagged the AAA/CAA Five Diamond Award® for 2011. Just 124 lodgings and 55 restaurants were eligible for the travel authority's highest and most exclusive rating. These select establishments represent only a fraction of the total 59,000 AAA Approved and Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
The AAA restaurant list makes it easier to select where to dine out during the 2011 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show and International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event.
