One of the great things about the NRA Show is meeting the people who make up the restaurant industry.
They're from every state, every part of the globe, from all walks of life. Many have overcome challenges that most of us can barely imagine. But their drive, their perseverance and their passion for hospitality have led them to success.
Sunday afternoon, the National Restaurant Association recognized a few of those people, as well as a company that makes those successes possible. This year's Faces of Diversity Awards honored Ben and Virginia Ali, Washington, D.C.; Amy Igloi-Matsuno, Port Orchard, Wash.; Siraj Virani, Chicago; and McDonald's.
"I hope this award inspires others ... that the American Dream is possible," said Virani, the owner of 13 Dunkin' Donuts stores.
We're inspired by the winners and their stories, and we think you will be, too. Click here to read more.
“A big thank you to the NRA for making the Faces of Diversity Awards such an important part of this year’s show. I was very proud to be honored as a finalist along with so many other great industry colleagues. I’ve recently written about my American Dream experience on my company’s blog, which you can find at http://www.sodexoUSA.com/blog
